War of the World War One

War of the World War One is a comic book series, taking place in 1916 during the First World War as the Martians - originally thought to be a creation from H.G. Wells' novel The War of the Worlds - are proved to be real when, during the battle of Verdun, a German mine accidentally uncovers an alien machine that projects a force-field around itself before transmitting a signal into space; awakening the dormant Martians stored away under the ruined Martian cities, triggering a new invasion. In response the nations agree to a truce as they try to find a way to stop the Martians.

The comic currently has two volumes - "Volume 1: The Thing Below The Trenches" (released digitally on October 12th 2016) and "Volume 2: Martian Terror" (released digitally on April 18th 2018) - and includes several historical figures such as Professor Albert Einstein, French Astronomer Nicolas Camille Flammarion and H.G. Wells himself. However, the comic also features the inclusion of Professor George Edward Challenger - a character created by Sherlock Holmes' author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and whom has appeared in other crossover stories based around The War of the Worlds.

The comic series is currently unfinished, with it been unknown when Volume 3 will be released and if the third volume will be the final volume.
